When seizures resist medication, surgery can be an option — after a complete work-up.
In some patients whose seizures resist medication, a well-defined "epileptic focus" can be identified in the brain.
When this focus is identified and can be removed without functional risk, surgical resection may be proposed — always after a complete pre-surgical work-up, conducted by a multidisciplinary team.
